Paul Murray Kendall declared that during his time at Middleham, Richard discovered the native country of his spirit, a country which half created, half confirmed the kind of man he was to become.
Richard III served his brother, Edward IV, and his country in many capacities, held many titles and offices. The one position that was most likely closes to his heart, was his appointment as Lieutenant of the North.
